There is a new procedure to follow if you are sent from the field of play during a match. The procedure also includes the list of penalties for send off offences. Because of the tight timeframe for processing and challenging the outcome of the P&D Committee hearings, it is important that your team manager contact a member of the Committee so that we can be prepared for the communications from GHFA.

Note:

Players sent off in the weekend games CAN NOT appear at the P&DC meeting until they have received notification of their sentence as they must serve at least one match which counts towards the sentence.  

Hearing/Sentence Procedure

The P&DC Committee will meet and review the send-off reports/incident reports and determine the sentence as appropriate to the offence on Tuesday (or at a day determined) from the previous weekend.  Clubs will be notified of charged player(s) sentences by the Thursday following the game. Clubs will also receive notice of any cited persons following P&DC reviewing incidents report/send-off reports    

Punishment

If the Disciplinary Committee considers the offence is proved it must select the punishment from the above guidelines. Suspensions are calculated in fixtures or a time frame.

The Disciplinary Committee has the right to consider:

1. the severity of the offence
2. the players past record
3. extenuating circumstances

Offenders who receive more than the minimum fixture penalty have two options:-

1. Accept the penalty as stipulated, or
2. Challenge the penalty, and if the player is found guilty he/she will be subject to a penalty greater than the minimum by one or more fixtures up to the maximum number as prescribed in the Regulations.

If an offender intends to challenge the sentence handed down by the P&DC, the player’s club must inform the Association by email by 10.00am on the Monday following notification of the sentence of the intention of the offender to appear at the next P&DC hearing, no player will be seen by the P & D C unless this notification is received at GHFA as stipulated.
